Dear North Haven families,
We hope that you have enjoyed those last few days of summer as today we officially welcome the first day of fall. With the change in season, we will often see a change in weather, please remind your child(ren) to dress appropriately for the ever-changing weather.
This past week we successfully conducted North Haven’s first fire drill of the year. The sunny conditions made for a smooth evacuation, with students calmly exiting the building around 2:00 PM and proceeding to the muster point on the school field. Teachers efficiently checked attendance, reported to administration, and ensured all students were safe. Overall, it was a well-run drill and a strong start to the year’s safety practices.
Our school will participate in the Terry Fox Run this year to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. The assembly and run will be held on September 25 in the morning. Donate!
We look forward to seeing families this Thursday evening for our Meet the Teacher Open House from 6:00 PM-7:00 PM. Teachers will present an overview of their class (about 10 minutes) and will have some time for questions and for children to tour the room briefly. There will be three 20-minute sessions within the hour. The three sessions are planned for families with more than one child in the school meet each teacher. The Parent Association will provide pizza and drinks during the evening for families to have something to eat as they meet and greet each other: this will be held at the back compound or gym (weather depending).
A reminder that there is no school on Friday September 27 for students and the school is closed on Monday, September 30.
Have a great week,
Cat & Pam

Volunteer Process and Police Clearances
We welcome volunteers in the classroom, on field trips, and with certain tasks at school. Certain activities or field trips would not be possible without the active participation of our volunteers. Visit the CBE website for more information on volunteering, including the required registration and Police Information Check. If you think you may have a current police clearance on file with the school, please contact the office for confirmation. The police clearance process can occasionally be lengthy, based on the volume of requests, so please be sure to complete this step well in advance of the intended volunteering dates.
Lunch Supervision Registration
Please ensure you register your child(ren) for lunch supervision through your MyCBE/PowerSchool account. Kindergarten students attending our alternating full-day programs will need to register for lunch supervision.
