Dear North Haven families,
We hope that you have all had a wonderful week. We had our first assembly on Thursday, where we had the opportunity to welcome all the new staff and students. It was great to gather as a school community.
Our school will participate in the Terry Fox Run this year to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. If you’re interested in donating, please follow this LINK.
With the weather changes, please remember to ensure your child(ren) has/have appropriate clothing to keep them warm and dry. Also, a reminder to have a pair of indoor shoes appropriate for gym activities.
An Outdoor School reminder for students in Mr. Florin, Ms. Mittal, and Ms. Wooley’s class: Mandatory meeting this Thursday for all parents. See below for details.
Have a great week,
Cat & Pam

Information and Reminders
Meet the Teacher Open House Night
Parents are invited to attend a meet & greet with their child(ren)’s teacher on Thursday, September 26. Teachers will present an overview of their class (about 10 minutes) and will have some time for questions and for children to tour the room briefly. There will be three 20-minute sessions. The Parent Association will provide pizza and drinks during the evening for families to have something to eat as they meet and greet each other.
School Parking Lot
The school parking lot is for staff ONLY. It is unsafe to have parents coming in and out of the parking lot during drop off and pick up. Please use the available space on the street to park.
Drive Safely
Some unsafe driving practices have been observed during morning drop-offs and afternoon pick-ups. We ask parents to make sure you are not parking in crosswalks, bus zones or on corners, obeying speed limits, driving on the correct side of the road, not blocking driveways and not jaywalking with your children. Thank you for helping us keep students safe during this very busy time.
Dog Policy
In accordance with The City of Calgary Bylaw 23M2006, dogs are not permitted on school grounds. This includes waiting outside your child’s drop-off and pick-up door. Thank you.
Outdoor School
Grade 5 and 6 students in Ms. Woolley, Ms. Mittal and Mr. Florin’s class will have the opportunity to go to Camp Chief Hector in October. For students to be able to go to this camp, a parent or guardian must attend the meeting. This meeting will be held in the School Gymnasium on September 19 at 6:00 pm.
