North Haven families,

We are officially in November; where has the time gone?  This weekend we changed our time due to daylight savings, here's a friendly reminder to set your clocks back an hour if you haven't done so already.

Last week, as a part of our professional learning day, we focused some time on discussing diversity and inclusion. We talked about the importance of a name, and being able to pronounce it properly. As a team, we want to show respect to our students by using correct pronunciation. If we mispronounce your child’s name, please let us know, and we will try our best to say it properly. If you have time, watch this TEDx video, which tells the story of Gerardo Ochoa.

Every year we have a Remembrance Day Assembly to honour past and present soldiers.  This year we will be having the assembly on Thursday, November 7 at 10:30 am. Parents are invited to attend.  Please ensure that you arrive no later than 10:20 so we can start at 10:30 am.

At North Haven, we model citizenship through making connections to community organizations. Thank you to those who have supported the Veterans Food Bank collection so far. Please consider choosing a couple items from this list to pick up with your child.   Here is a link to the most needed items. Please only send “non-perishable” items to school. We will collect items until November 7.

Have a great week,

Cat & Pam
