Dear North Haven families
Please read the news for this week.
Lost and Found
With the weather changing students have been leaving items behind. All lost and found items are on display in the hallway for students to view and to collect. Please see the document with pictures of the lost and found items. If you see something that may be your child’s item, remind him or her to look for it.
Physical Education: Gymnastics
For the next two weeks students will be doing gymnastics and using the Canadian Climber. Safety is important to us; students are reminded that they need to have appropriate clothing for these activities. What this looks like:
Head to Toe – Ready to Go
- Head: long hair pulled back
- Ears/Throat/Wrist: jewelry off
- Shirt: one layer shirt (no hoodies)
- Waist: tucked in
- Pants: sport pants or shorts (no belts or zippers)
- Ankles: pants rolled up if ankles are covered
- Feet: bare feet or running shoes only (no crocs)
North Haven's School Council and Parent Association Reminders:
North Haven’s Parent Association will be hosting a Picky Eating Presentation, brought to you by Pediatric Foundations. May 6, 6:00pm-7:00pm in North Haven School Learning commons. Parent Association meeting to follow (7:00om-8:00om) .
The Parent Association still has a few more Healthy Hunger dates approaching as well as the Growing Smiles Fundraiser happening until May 7, 2025. You can find out further information about the Parent Association here.
Mental Health Awareness Week: May 5 – 11
This week, students and staff will recognize Mental Health Awareness week by taking part in ‘Hats On for Mental Health’ on Wednesday, May 7. Students learn to recognize both mental and physical health in Wellness classes. Talking about mental health can lessen the stigma that is often associated with it. We encourage all students to wear any hat they choose to class on Wednesday as a fun way to show their support.
The Baby Chicks Have Hatched!
Students in PLP have been excited to share their learning and excitement with the school as they welcomed the first baby chick. A few more will have joined us by Monday and there will be times for classes to visit and ask questions.
Volunteer Tea
Please look for an invite in your inbox this week as we look forward to recognize all volunteers who have helped out in classrooms and on field trips this year. Please be sure to RSVP so we know how many volunteers to expect.
This Week Cyber Safety
Our hope is to help families have opportunities to talk about cyber safety and find tools to help you. We hope to include a resource each week for you to watch and use.
