North Haven families
We would like to thank the PLP class for sharing their learning with the school and parents this past week. They presented to the whole school in small group settings throughout the school day. They have also been great ambassadors and teachers with the popular chicks that they helped hatch. This week students had the chance to see the chicks and learn more about their life cycle.
Kindergarten Open House
Kindergarten parents who have registered their children to start at North Haven in September 2025, will be receiving an invitation this week to our open house on May 22, 5:30 – 6:30. If you know of any families, or have a child that is eligible to attend Kindergarten this year and hasn’t yet registered, please remind them to register for kindergarten.
Volunteer Tea
We are pleased to invite our volunteers to our Volunteer Tea on May 27 at 8:30 am. We would like to request that you let us know if you will be joining us by filling in this form.
School Bus Update
With the recent growth of our student population at the school, there will be a third school bus starting on Wednesday, May 14. This addition of a bus will mean that there will be less space for dropping off and picking up students in front of the school. Bus C will use the current bus zone that parents have been using for parking, located by the grade 1-2 area. Please use other street parking available and walk to your child’s meeting spot.
Lost and Found
Reminder to families that student items from the lost and found have been displayed for this past week. The final day to look through the items will be Monday, May 12, 2025, after that items will be collected and given to a good cause.
AHS Immunization
There are some North Haven families that have been contacted by AHS to let them know about upcoming immunizations. Please note that the immunizations are happening at North Haven School on the morning of May 14. If you have the permission form not yet returned and would like to have your child’s immunization done at the school, please return it signed to the school before Wednesday, May 14th.
Physical Education
This week students will be doing gymnastics and using the Canadian Climber. Safety is important to us; students are reminded that they need to have appropriate clothing for these activities. What this looks like:
Head to Toe – Ready to Go
- Head: long hair pulled back
- Ears/Throat/Wrist: jewelry off
- Shirt: one layer shirt (no hoodies)
- Waist: tucked in
- Pants: sport pants or shorts (no belts or zippers)
- Ankles: pants rolled up if ankles are covered
- Feet: bare feet or running shoes only (no crocs)
This Week Cyber Safety
Our hope is to help families have opportunities to talk about cyber safety and find tools to help families. We hope to include a resource each week for you to watch and use.
