North Haven families 

It was great to see students after the break; many returned with lots of cheer and stories to tell, starting 2025 off with a lovely week.  Please remind students to dress appropriately for the weather; especially with the weather shifting so quickly, layers are always handy.  

Reminder that Kindergarten Registration for next year will begin on January 13, 2025. If you have a child who will be starting kindergarten next year (or know of someone who will be), please investigate the CBE’s Kindergarten page.  For additional information please go to the North Haven School website.  

Between January 13-31, Calgary Board of Education teachers will be administering mandatory learning assessments to students in grades K-3. Using Alberta Education literacy and numeracy assessments will support teachers in understanding the foundational skills of individual students, measuring growth, and targeting instruction.  

This week, we will welcome Robert Scott, a parent at our school, who has graciously offered to give all students in grades K-6 an introduction to Taekwondo this coming Wednesday. Robert is a VII degree black belt with the International Taekwon-do Federation and has been instructing in Calgary since 1993. Scott Taekwon-do has offered this PE opportunity free of charge.
