Dear North Haven Families,
Following the email sent by the CBE on October 3, I am writing to reiterate and share additional information regarding the upcoming labour action beginning Monday, October 6, 2025.
As of that date, there will be no classes for students until the labour action concludes. Please do not send your children to school on October 6, or on any subsequent day, until you receive official confirmation of a return date.
For the most current information and updates, please visit the Labour Action page on the CBE website and follow CBE on Facebook and Instagram.

- Casino Fundraiser (October 28–29): The North Haven Parent Association Casino Fundraising Event will proceed as scheduled. This event is a key fundraising initiative supporting many important programs at North Haven School. (Please refer to the email titled "Message from North Haven Parent Association," sent on October 1, for more details.)
- Onsite School Activities: Events planned for October, such as school photos and immunizations, will be rescheduled after school resumes.

- Teacher Communication: Teachers will not have access to email during the strike and will be unable to respond to any messages.
- Kids Come First: The Kids Come First program will continue to operate from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM during the strike for registered families.

- Learning Toolkits: Alberta Education and Childcare has developed free learning toolkits to support student learning during school closures. These resources are aligned with the K–12 curriculum and are available in English, French, and French Immersion. Each toolkit contains two weeks of materials, with additional content added as needed. Toolkits can be downloaded from new.learnalberta.ca
Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding during this time. CBE will continue to keep you informed as more information becomes available.
Sincerely,
Cat Gammell
