Dear North Haven Families, 

Art Exhibit at School 
We are pleased to host our second Alberta Foundation for the Arts traveling exhibition (TREX). Odd Things – Things We Believe In will open for staff and students on Wednesday, January 28. Students will engage with the artwork over the next few weeks through classroom learning and discussion. 

Family Literacy Day 
Families across Calgary are invited to celebrate Family Literacy Week (Jan. 26 – Feb. 2) with the Calgary Board of Education, highlighting the importance of reading and other literacy-rich activities at home and at school. 

The CBE Literacy & Early Learning Team has prepared a variety of activities and resources to support meaningful learning at home. Reading together and engaging in shared learning experiences play an important role in children’s development. 

Ways families can participate include: 

• CBE At-home activities and resources : Find ways to make learning fun and impactful.   
• Calgary Public Library Family Reading Pick: A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle, featuring a family reading adventure with a live performance and themed activities. 
• Family Literacy Day at-home activities and resources : Engage in other literacy-related activities as a family 

This week, Mrs. Carr has also organized a Literacy Bingo activity, which will be shared with students by their teachers.
