Dear North Haven Parents & Guardians,  

We hope you and your family had a wonderful March break. While it was a short week, students were busy, jumping right back into their learning tasks and connecting with friends.  

We look forward to seeing you this Tuesday, April 9 at 6:30 pm for our school council meeting. Mrs. Hastie, who teaches grade 6, will be sharing what is happening in her classroom. All North Haven parents and guardians are welcome to attend.

Staffing Update

Welcome to Ms. Megumi Brownlee who is now teaching part-time in grade 3. Ms. Brownlee shares this role with Mrs. Michelle Johnson who has switched to part-time.  Mrs. Johnson teaches in the mornings and Ms. Brownlee teaches in the afternoons and on Fridays. 

Eclipse Precautions

On Monday, April 8, there will be an eclipse of the sun over the lunch break. We are inviting students who regularly go home for lunch to stay at school. We need to take precautions to ensure student safety. Looking directly at the sun could damage students’ eyesight, without them realizing it. We will have indoor activities planned over the lunch hour for this day.  

Grade 6 PAT Announcement

Alberta Education announced last week that Grade 6 English language arts and literature (ELAL) and mathematics provincial achievement tests will not be administered for the 2023-2024 school year. 

Healthy Sexual Development | Family & Caregiver Well-Being Session 

As part of a continued effort to support the well-being of students, CBE is committed to sharing valuable information about child and youth well-being with families and caregivers. This is the last (of five) sessions available for families and caregivers, this time focusing on 'healthy sexual development'.

About: Next Year (2024-25) Families, YOU’RE INVITED! Plan to attend Nose Creek School’s Open House on May 9, 2024.

• Coventry Hills School Families, visit from 5:00pm - 5:45pm
• Northern Lights School Families and any other NEW families, visit from 5:45pm – 6:30pm Meet in the Main Gym for a short presentation.
• Families can then wander through the school, looking at displays, visit classrooms and experience Nose Creek School. If families cannot make their designated time, please attend the other time.
