Week of April 1- 5

Dear North Haven Parents & Guardians,  

Thank you to those of you who came to Student-Led conferences last week. It was great seeing so many of you and watching students share their work with you. If you ever have questions about the work your child is doing at school, please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher.   

We hope you have had a great spring break. Happy Easter to those who celebrate this. We look forward to seeing students back at school on Tuesday.

Moving? Help us Plan for Next Year!

It is that time of year when we begin to plan for next year.  If you know you will be moving or that your child will not be attending North Haven School next year for any reason, other than grade 6 students moving on to grade 7, please let us know as soon as possibly by notifying the office (email: Northhaven@cbe.ab.ca).  The more accurate we can be with our projection of student numbers the better we are able to plan and organize for the upcoming school year. 

Fun Lunch

Our school council has organized optional Fun Lunch opportunities through Healthy Hunger. Our next fun lunch day will be on Thursday, April 4. To participate, orders must be placed 5 days prior to the fun lunch date – so by 11:59 pm on the previous Saturday.  Future Fun Lunch dates are listed in the Upcoming Dates below. 

After School Childcare in Livingston Needed

One of our North Haven families who lives in Livingston is looking for after school childcare that includes pick up from the bus.  If you know of a Dayhome or Daycare that has openings, please let us know at the school and we will pass the information along to the family in need. 

School Council and Parent Association

Our next School Council and Parent Association meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 9 at 6:30 pm in the North Haven School learning commons.  Our grade 6 teacher and Learning Leader, Janelle Hastie will be presenting.  In addition, at this meeting we will be looking to fill the School Council chair position that will become vacant at the end of the month.  We would like to thank Katie Meinen for doing a fantastic job in this role.  Katie, you will be missed. 

All North Haven parents/guardians are welcome to join us for these meetings.  

North Haven Planning Survey – Results Posted

Thank you to those of you who completed the Planning Survey.  We appreciate your feedback and use this to help us when creating our school development plan and when making decisions about activities that require parent fees. This survey is now closed and the results have been posted on our school website.
